Mission Statment
To prudently manage the Trust's resources in order to advance early childhood care education.
Goals
- To be recognised as a leading provider of high quality early childhood education services.
- To increase participation in early childhood education and care through the provision of quality early learning centres.
Philosophy
CNI Early Education Services Trust believes that quality learning opportunities for children are best achieved through:
- Individualised learning programmes developed from observations and through the provision of play based, resourced based, child initiated environments, following the principles of Te Whariki.
- Teaching staff with a Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood Education), equivalency or higher qualification.
- Educational programmes which reflect te Tiriti o Waitangi and the dual heritage of Aotearoa.
- Environments, which acknowledge, recognise and respect the importance of other cultures.
Key Strategies
Education
- Provide consistently high quality teaching practice/strategies and care in all centres.
- Inform parents/caregivers/whanau of the Trust's philosophy and the principles of effective education practice.
- Enhance children's mastery of early skills in reading and mathematics.
- Sustain and enhance information and communication technology (ICT) development as a tool for learning.
- Develop positive transition to school processes for children.
- Reflect the unique place of Maori as tangata whenua and the principle of partnership inherent in Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- Recognise success and innovative practice.
Management
- Effectively promote the value of our centres as a quality choice for families.
- Support and promote quality professional development opportunities for all staff.
- Address the shortage of suitably qualified teachers by innovative and positive recruitment strategies.
- Implement a programme of regular review that provides feeback on progress towards meeting Trust goals and objectives.
Environment
- Ensure centre environments are conductive to positive learning outcomes for children.
Financial
- Ensure the financial viability of the Trust.
- Develop a reserve fund that will enable the Trust to allocate grants and scholarships that enhance early childhood education.
- Undertake expansion in areas that will contribute to the Trust's financial viability.
